Okay, so I’m supposed to share about the necessity of obedience to your faith walk. I don’t believe in coincidences, so I know the series of events I’m going to share are connected.
My baby has a cow’s milk allergy (like me) and I had to switch his formula. I’ve struggled with producing enough milk for him since I put him in day care, but fortunately, I could afford to supplement. I heard to get a specific formula and I heard to buy two. Granted this new formula is more expensive and I get less of it, but I obeyed. This was Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday are fine. Wednesday AM, I notice his rashes are clearing — yes he had rashes from the prior formula. Yesterday, I heard to sow two seeds so I did it. Then out of nowhere, my boss’ boss is in our building and gives me a compliment on my work. He’s loud so my boss and our PM could hear it. I definitely was caught off guard but I knew it was God.This happened after I obeyed and sowed the seeds.
So last night, I was up all night because my baby was sick. He started dry heaving at 2 am and it went on pretty much all night. Day care is the worst in that while it’s definitely a help, your kids get exposed to so many things since they are swapping germs. Needless to say, he threw up after nursing this am and I proceeded to schedule an appointment. I got him to the doctor and together, we eliminate the new milk as the source. While I was on the way to the doctor, I had just said I know I heard God say to get this milk. The doctor gave him something to slow down the vomiting and then to my surprise, she gave me 5 containers of the same milk I had just bought. They were samples so altogether that milk amounted to more than what I had bought. I almost cried!
Now you may say that’s a coincidence but I know it isn’t. I had no reason to take him to the doctor other than that. Of course, now he’s feeling better (he was actually feeling better when we got home after he napped) and I got to spend an extra whole day with him which is priceless.
God operates in unexpected blessings and abundance, things that we have access to when we obey. It could be as simple as paying for someone’s gas or whatever you have been instructed to do, just make sure you do it. Learn from me, I had an unexpected turn of events in my life because I was disobedient and impatient. Obedience will greatly shift you and take you places you never expected to go because God will be able to trust you. You can do it!!! Don’t be like Saul and forfeit the kingdom and God’s anointing because of your disobedience.
But Samuel replied, "What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 1 Sam 15:22
