Prepare. Position. Press. Day 20 – Waiting in Patient Expectancy

Patience is a word I loathe. Yep, I said loathe. I made the mistake of praying for patience in high school and yearly for quite a while afterward until one day I realized that I was experiencing situations where I could only be patient. Let’s just say I did not pass those tests. I complained and begged God asking to understand the delays and when I realized the delays were teaching me patience, I stopped asking for it.

But as much as it pains me to say, the lessons we go through are our best teacher in preparation for the blessings God has for us. Sometimes it takes us 5, 10, 20 or 30 years to be ready to handle the blessings we are asking for. Knowing this now, I am grateful to God for this season of preparation, positioning, and pressing so that I can be ready, without delay, to receive what He has promised. Because I am ready, I can expect God to do what He said and know that I will not squander away what I am seeking.

Prayer:
Father God, my Lord, thank You for today. Thank You for helping me understand the purpose of patience. I thank You for every lesson I have learned in every setback or circumstance where I perceived a delay. I thank You for teaching me to hold on and wait until You release the blessing. I thank You for preparing me. I thank You for changing me. I thank You that through every experience, I have come to learn and grow. I thank You for a spirit of expectancy and that I will receive, do and be all that You desire.
