Do You Have God’s Permission?

Age DOES NOT EQUAL wisdom and maturity. Wisdom is knowing when to release the word. It’s trusting God enough to wait until He says to share something with someone. I know personally in the past God has shown me things about my family and friends and I’ve spoken it prematurely. Honestly, I felt offended when they didn’t listen to me and when they had to hear the same thing from a person off the street. I had to let it go and God has since delivered me in this area, to the point I say nothing at all. A clear example of demonstrating wisdom in waiting to have God’s permission to speak on a particular situation is a situation I had with a friend named Kelly. When I lived in Charleston the first time, I was involved with a guy. It took me moving away to New Orleans and then coming back to realize that I had gotten out of order in that relationship. When I moved back, I saw Kelly and we caught up. I shared what I learned and she told me that God had told her the same thing but He never gave her permission to say anything to me about it.

So the message is to always make sure you have God’s permission to speak into a person’s life. A lot of times we allow our issues, a jealous spirit, a religious spirit, our need or desire for revenge or some other sense of false superiority to motivate us to say something to someone that is either not from God or not ready to be released.

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬
