Prepare. Position. Press. Day 10 – What’s Distracting You?

Yesterday I kept hearing "Don’t Get Distracted," to the point that I re-evaluated the list to make sure I was covering this topic.

Distractions don’t necessarily always have to be something big. It can be as small as your son wanting to be held or the apps on your phone, or sometimes, not turning people and situations over to God. How do I know, well I have let all three of these things and more distract me.

You have done the work of preparation these past 10 days. You have gathered up the things that are currently on your plate. You have gone to God in prayer on what stays and what goes. You went ahead and purged those things. You have forgiven and you have released. Then you got organized. You have set a focus for the year. You have chosen scriptures to stand on and you have identified your accountability team. The only hindrance to your success (aside from God’s will of course) is the surfacing of distractions. I encourage you to do something you may have never done. Anticipate the enemy’s retaliation — determine potential blockages and distractions.

Then what? You guessed it, stand on the word of God. Also, ask yourself why is that particular distraction has surfaced. You never know, there may be a reason you overlooked.

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for the warning to not get distracted. Thank You for the readjustment mentally and for the renewal of my mind through this process. Thank You for Your word to stand on in faith. I thank You that by the blood of Jesus, I overcome. I thank You that I am prepared and ready for you to position me where You would have me to be. In Jesus name, Amen.

Prepare. Position. Press. Day 9 (for real this time) Who Are You Accountable To?

For today, I encourage you to identify your team and establish accountability. There are several scriptures drilling home the importance of having a multitude of counselors, seeking wise counsel, and having sound guidance overall. I’ll share several here:
Proverbs 15:26 – Plans fail for a lack of counsel but with a multitude of advisers they succeed.
Proverbs 11:14 – For lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with many counselors comes deliverance.
Proverbs 20:18 – Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t wage war without good advice.
Proverbs 24:6 – Don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on many counselors.

If I’m honest, this was not something I was taught. I learned it over time and I gradually refined my circle to be people that are trustworthy, live in integrity and are led by God. What does your circle look like? Who can you trust to hold you accountable? Who has God put in your life to provide you with wise counsel?

Be led by God in choosing your team!

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for being such a good and great Father to me. Thank You that I have Your word to refer to and to gain wisdom on how to live and approach this coming year. I ask You, Lord, to open my eyes to see those I need to release to make room for those that need to be in my life right now. I pray for vision and discernment to see those that You have assigned to hold me accountable. I pray that my heart and mind are submitted to You and prepared to receive correction and redirection. I thank You for empowering me to walk in humility and to receive the insight needed to make the right decisions. I thank You that even though I plan my way, You establish my steps and make them sure. I thank You for Your faithfulness and that my plans succeed because of the counselors You have given me. I thank You that I am delivered through the wisdom and guidance that comes from You through my advisors. I thank You that I only move forward in battle under the guidance and advice of those You have sent me. I thank You that because Your wisdom lies in me and them, that I receive the victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
